Grade 1 Science Units - 2022 Updated
Ontario curriculum based science units with a nature twist! All four units will cover the entire grade science curriculum with the exception of coding and indigenous perspectives. Each science unit includes pdf instructions and all relevant handouts and digital resources (where applicable).

Required materials for each unit:
Gr 1 Seasonal Changes: colouring materials, ball to represent Earth, flashlight or lamp, Tape
Gr 1 Everyday materials: Wooden stir sticks, Marshmallows, Common classroom materials, such as wooden ruler, paper, cotton shirt, sand pottery cup, Recycling, such as toilet paper rolls, old paper, boxes, containers, Materials with different textures, colours & shapes, such as sandpaper, cotton sweater, stuffed toy, pine cone, seeds, erasers
Gr 1 Energy in our lives: Drawing materials, Paper, Scissors, Tape, Single hole punch, Large paper fastener
Gr 1 Needs and Characteristics: Drawing materials, Plants, if possible, or leaves
